Oveth Cruz, a Nicaraguan barber sits at his barber station at "La Sirena" salon in the Mission District, while waiting for clients to arrive. Cruz who recently emigrated from the northern part of Nicaragua, La Dalia, makes a living cutting hair. Even though his passion is baseball, Cruz learned to fix shoe soles and cut men's hair from a very young age, in order to help his parents Berta and Julio financially while they raised his two younger brothers Keyling and Julio.
